I have a piece of wire that secures the anchor into the bow roller. However, it's gotten quite rusty and before I replaced it, I thought I'd check to see how others are handling securing the anchor to the bow roller. See pic below.

I just use a piece of 3/16” line. Tied to the bale on one side with a bowline. I pass it over the anchor (in your case, I’d probably thread it through the hole in the anchor shank) and secure it to the bale on the other side with a couple of half hitches. The same piece of line has been in place and in use without fail (through some pretty rough open ocean miles) for around 20 years.

We use Paracord since we changed to a 55 lb mantus and the shank was taller than our securing mount bracket with a pin. Had been kind of worried it wouldn't be enough, but it's survived crossing to the Bahamas and sailing around over here in lots of conditions. We run it over the shank, pass it through the shackle then tight to one of the bow cleats

I have a chain stopper that secures the anchor from deploying and it sounds like I just need to make sure that the anchor can't escape the top of the roller. I have some amsteel at home so I'll probably use that. Thanks for the recommendations.
