The thru hulls on our Tartan don't have the bare wires that run to all the chain plates/mast/pintle/engine block ground, etc connected to them. Is that standard? Anyone have the thru hulls as part of the bonded system? How do you connect them?

Hoping for some thoughts on this. Reason is I'm getting between .6 and .7 volts at the thru hull in the kitchen and engine intake when measured between the thru hull and the engine block or battery ground or either when they are connected. I've done so many ground fault/current leak tests my head is spinning (as laid out in the Calder book). Basically have pulled my whole electrical system apart and put it back together. Nothing seems to make the voltage go away even when I disconnect the batteries at the post, and I've also removed the hose from the thru hull to isolate it. How is that even possible? I know it must be coming from the shaft and prop through the water, but where is the voltage originating if the batteries are disconnected? Anyone ever dealt with this?

Any electricians out there? This is all over my head. I see that the intersect of Bronze and Zinc on this table is 630 mV, which is basically what I'm reading on my volt meter. https://www.qsl.net/n9zia/electrochemical.html

Is that what I'm measuring here: My zincs that are attached to the shaft and engine creating a battery with the thruhulls nearby but also protecting them as long as there is zinc present? If that is the case, is there anything I should be doing differently?

So, I got an email from an electrician I asked, and he said in the example and link I wrote above, I should be getting negative 630 mV if everything was just right. Going to have him come out and look everything over. Any other thoughts here?

I'm not plugged in, and I've been measuring the same voltages while at different locations.

New finding: Asked the electrician some more questions. I was supposed to be putting the red probe to the ground/engine/DC negative and the black probe to the thru hull. I was doing the opposite. So, I am getting negative 630 mV. The electrician won't go so far as to say that all is well without doing a test with a silver half cell hung in the water. I may get him to do that anyway, but it sounds like everything may be normal on my boat. Would love to hear from anyone that has any knowledge on this kind of thing.
