I grounded on a rock and now the centerboard is stuck up. From a dive today you can see the damage. Anyone have experience with this repair?

Interesting: the board will usually be jammed in the trunk because corosion has ocurred in the steel bar that is encapsulated in the layup of the board, expanding enough to cause the binding. In your case it would appear that the collision has perhaps actually displaced the fiberglass layup, decreasing the width of slot.
That must have been quite a crunch. It provides you the opportunity to improve the pivot configuration. Hope that you've got a knowledgeable fiberglass person where you haul out.

Thanks. I'll check out that thread. Haul out will be sometime after July 4th. No one wants to touch it until then. The feeling of dread in the meantime is pretty heavy.

Well, I hauled out and spent a few days grinding and then about four days layering new glass, fairing and apply gel coat and paint. It all turned out well. I was able to drop the center board after removing the remaining bolts on the angle irons that hold it in from the bottom. Half the bolt heads had sheered off, but after removing the rest and dropping the board the shafts where exposed sufficiently to grab and remove. Only one bolt required drilling and backing out with a broken-bolt tool. I’ll post pictures in a bit that should make it clear.

Here the photos of the repair in progress. I itches for weeks after this! But it all worked out great. Thanks for the input before I started.

What is the configuration of the brackets? Just L shaped and the bolts bed out in glass or is there some form of receiver? It looks like 3 holes in the side of the keel in one photo. Just voids?

IIRC, yes, they are two L brackets. One has a large diameter pin attached to it. The other end of the pin is threaded. The other L bracket has a threaded hole. You have to put the centerboard on the pin bracket and then thread on the other bracket. Lift the entire assembly and install the 6 bolts to hold everything up. I missed the view of the slot without the centerboard so I don't know if the bolts are just bedded into the glass or not.
