Hello. I am new to this site and I am seriously thinking of purchasing a 1982 Tartan 37. This is a bit of a project boat. I am familiar with the Columbia metric series boat of which I have two, but not the Tartan. I will get a survey but I'm asking if any one here can advise me on what in particular to look for ahead of time. What weaknesses or areas are prone to problems. This boat has a swing keel and I've read a few negative comments on these. Just wondering what the issues are and where to get information as to how they work. I believe part or all of the mechanism is in the mast? Thanks for any advice

Thanks for the replies. I'll definitely get a surveyor to look at it. Please comment if there are other areas I need to look at in depth.
