So we recently purchased Hull 369 (ex-Maetta) and are undergoing a thorough refit. New sails, halyards, liferail and instruments. Hoses, sea strainer, head, cabin sole...

The plan was to haul and do a bottom job, expecting that there would be blisters to take care of and also replace the cutlass bearing, through hulls, etc. What was initially a spa treatment has turned into elective cosmetic surgery Smile We've altered course on some items and will handle at the next haul out.

I'll post the progress in this thread. We're currently at the stage where the blisters are taken care of and the bottom is barrier coated and painted. Waiting on a weather window for Awlgrip.

6 months of growth, a complete bottom scrub, then 2 months of growth and we got this!

And after blasting revealed all of the blisters.

The centerboard removal was pretty straightforward. It was surprising to see we were missing one bolt.

We have 5/16-18 x 1-1/4" screws on hull 369. Full thread are proving hard to find at this point.

We are also missing the rudder skeg and plan to replace that at the next haulout. This one is growing!

So since we went this far, may as well paint the topsides...

The 545 primer rolled on well with minor orange peel as expected. It should sand pretty easily before spraying topcoat.

Got the primer sanded on the port side and transom today. 5 hours and a bunch of 320grit and we have an idea of how great the sides are going to look when they are sprayed!

Hi Dave.

Right, that image is of the angle bracket, prior to removing from boat. Our remaining 5 of 6 bolts backed out a little too easy for my comfort. I'm replacing all 6 when I put the board back. If the material seems questionable, I'll upsize to 3/8" from the existing 5/16 1-1/4" long. I can't get to it now because there's a keel block right under that location.

Installing the centerboard today and the one missing bolt was in fact stripped. When attempting to drill and tap for a 3/8 bolt, the material that came out was shiny and gold and had the consistency of bronze. Has anyone cone across their embedded plate being bronze instead of steel?

Weird, mine seemed more like concrete (hull 136)
