Greetings. I have some wobbly stanchions. PO put more than just the set screws in several of the stanchion bases for the uprights, sometimes bolting all the way thru the stanchion upright. Has anyone tried to drill and tap larger diameter holes to tighten things up? Bow pulpit needs rehab also. Any knowledge from experience in this arena will be appreciated. I found a post online from a pearson forum, that got fairly technical about tap and dies. Hull #34 is getting ready to go back to the islands and getting down to the last few safety issues.

Cheers.

Yes. Drilled and re-tapped next largest size or re-tapped from sae to metric or vice-versa, whichever direction worked.
