My centreboard jams in the down position every time I remove the mast. I can keep a hold of the line put not put pressure on it to hold the board up. The problem seems to be the board swings forward too much and pulling up on the board halyard jams the halyard between the board and the box and forward of centre. Has anyone else had this happen and does anyone have a solution. I have to haul the boat to get the board back so the halyard lifts it. Frustrating

I have to pull my mast each year, I tie a rope 'sling' around the hull, tied on stantion bases, to hold up the board. So far so good, it just drops a few inches. Bruce.

I tried that last year and we still had issues when it slid forward. Perhaps I can make a keel diaper to hold it in.
One other boater (not a Tartan owner) suggested a piece of truck tire wedged in the front half of the slot but I am not sure my travel lift can lift the boat high enough to work under there.

Any other suggestions?

I've never had a problem using the same method Bruce described. Make sure you're positioning the sling in the right place - after end of the trunk/centerboard - and draw it up tight.

I would use a sling, maybe an old jib sheet. Do you have the piece of standard 5/8" black hot water hose about 10-inches long, over the centerboard pendant right where it connects to the ceneterboard. That keeps the pendant from jamming between the board and trunk.
