I grounded on a rock and now the centerboard is stuck up. From a dive today you can see the damage. Anyone have experience with this repair?

You might want to take a look at a 4-page post titled:
"Post subject: False keel section and water getting in through keel" - it has good images of this area. Zdunc posted that water was seeping into bilge through the keel. The yard re-glassed the bottom of the keel.

If the centerboard won't budge because the steel bracket is bent, the bracket could be cut with a grinder and cutoff wheel. At that point, but board should be ready to drop out, so block the board up before cutting.

Let us know what you find out. Good luck with it!

Interesting: the board will usually be jammed in the trunk because corosion has ocurred in the steel bar that is encapsulated in the layup of the board, expanding enough to cause the binding. In your case it would appear that the collision has perhaps actually displaced the fiberglass layup, decreasing the width of slot.
That must have been quite a crunch. It provides you the opportunity to improve the pivot configuration. Hope that you've got a knowledgeable fiberglass person where you haul out.

Thanks. I'll check out that thread. Haul out will be sometime after July 4th. No one wants to touch it until then. The feeling of dread in the meantime is pretty heavy.
