We recently had the lady on the hard installing a new thru hull for the knotmeter and getting her a new coat of bottom paint. The last step before splashing her was to pick her up in the travel lift and drop the centerboard to paint the centerboard and the slot. I was noticing that the waterline appeared to be a bit higher in the air than I remember the brochure stating. So the Admiral and I measured from the port waterline to the ground with the centerboard resting on the ground and it was 8'9". Exactly one foot more than the brochure. We went over to starboard and measured waterline to ground and that side was 8'7"! Our measurement from the waterline to the bottom of the keel was 4'10"
As we always like to anchor in 6 foot of charted water, we haven't gone aground but I think Impetuous has seen the last of her gunkholing into 5 foot waters.
