Our 82 T37 has what we thought was simply a shower sump box in the bilge. We haven't used the shower and every time we use the boat the sump box is 1/2 + full of fresh water. The only fresh water on the boat is the water tanks which don't seem to leak. Is it possible the mast is set up to drain into the shower sump?

I can't see how the (rain)water coming down the mast could end up in the sump. Perhaps the ice box/ fridge drains into the sump?

My best 2 guesses would be rain water coming in through the portlight in the head or chain plate leaking into the head and getting to the drain. The ice box also drains there so if somehow fresh water getting in there could be it. Also if you ran water through any of the sump lines anytime recently, water can be sitting in the system that slowly drains with boat movement and takes a while to fully drain.

My shower sump, which is also the ice box sump, had a supply line coming from the ice box. The sump tank was such a mess I removed it to clean, but since I never shower on board, and the drain-off from the cooler is fresh ice melt, I never replaced it. No problems.
