Yes I have tried Spartite, the neoprene stuff that Hall Spars sells, and regular old wooden wedges. The Spartite was OK as long as you do not want to take the mast out and are ready to do something else to stem the leaks at the partners---seemed like an over priced solution to a non problem in retrospect. The wooden wedges worked better for exactly positioning the mast in he partners but sometimes popped out and had to have a waterproof covering. I finally went back to the neoprene stuff that Hall Spars sells for $25 that is, I think what Tartan was selling with the boat in 1982. It needs a boot over it to keep the water out, but so do all the other solutions.
