I have a small leak from two of my portholes after testing pouring water in them. It seems to come from the rubber area. The rubber look soft enough and I can't see any problems with it.

What kind of rubber and size is used for Tartan 37 portholes?

Any good way to improve the sealing between rubber and metal? I tried cleaning with soap and water. No difference afterwards.

If you have the original they are Beckson 14 x 4. The only suitable replacement are the manufacturer gaskets. If original the rubber is old and stiff. Can try cleaning and coating with some Superlube Teflon lube. Here are the gaskets.

Thanks for the link and reply. The rubber was not the problem.

The water is coming in from the area between the two metals. How do I separate them?

I assume the black sealing between them is just old butyl tape?
