Just got in the parts from Hall Spars. Pictures attached for others that may be considering this to know what it is that you are ordering. They aren't on the website, and you do have to call in and order them. They come in 2 foot pieces, and I got two just in case even though it had been mentioned earlier that 2 feet was all you need. They were $12 a piece. Total with shipping to FL $34.06. Will report back on how installation goes. Just FYI, the guy I talked to on the phone knew what I was talking about, but said they weren't made out of neoprene. I guess I got the same thing others have used. Item info from packing slip: Item # BAR-R0732-01008. Description: Rub Rail, BLK PSTC (STKD IN 2' PCS) BARBOUR F-2003.

That is the stuff that I have used for several seasons and it has been very good. I think you will find that one piece will fit nicely around the entire mast with the gap aft at the slot. The ridge in the material laps over the collar of the partners. You can use a rubber hammer to convince it to fit. Over time it takes on the shape of the cross section of your mast. Simplifies things over wedges and does not stick like Spartite. As with other materials you will still need a cover to keep the water out.

Holy hard!!!!! Got the replacement for the wooden mast wedges installed. Found that the tightest space on Holiday was aft. Loosened back stay and winched a couple of halyards forward. Still took Dawn, heat gun, attacking the mast like a line backer, a hammer, and a couple of hours. Finally got it in there though.

After reading this thread, we used wood wedges from above when we stepped our mast in November. Now that we're out sailing outside the Golden Gate, we're finding the mast moves enough to let the wedges fall out. There's one or two on the floor after each day. Like Zach, I've been temporarily re-installing them from below with a hammer and some duct tape. That's obviously not cutting it.

Hall Spars in the US is out of business. I found the product they were selling here:

https://www.integritymarinecorp.com/fle ... d-rubrails

It's the F2003 extrusion, which unfortunately is only available in 60 foot spools.

I got the rubber surround from Rigging Only or someone like that. It's in a thread here somewhere. Worked excellent. But was like $250. Way too much.

We ended up with four 6" pieces of part number K-77509-6 from Rig Rite. I figured the four smaller pieces would be easier to install. $196 and worked perfectly. The first three (aft, port, starboard) slipped in easily. For the forward one, we cranked the mast aft using the two primary winches (as described in the owners manual).

I have been talking to Ian Weedman, at Brion Toss rigging. He recommends Spar-tite. I ordered the large kit and will report back on how it goes.

I used Spartight this year. Only needed half of the large kit. Great results. No movement in the partner and watertight with added vinyl boot over the top for UV protection. Mast does not pump in the partner in a seaway.

I probably got the rubber surround from Rig Rite. Whoever it was, compared to what Zach posted, I got severely ripped off at $250.00. However, I had the Spartite kit out and was getting ready to open and install it and the guys at the yard stopped me before I opened it. They had recently attempted to remove a mast from a boat that had been installed with Spartite. Works absolutely great if you're never going to take your mast out. I guess there is a cautious technique to using it . . . if you ever want to take the mast out again. The yard monkeys were extracting a mast and lifted a 38 footer off the stands. Scared the hell out of them. So I went with the rubber insert and never looked back.

Hey, somebody go to Maine and get my T37 and bring it down here to STT. Just have to screw the overhead back up, get some various lockwashers and put the W50 back together. All lined up. The gasket set is in the galley cabinet. Slap on the 3 gallons of Micron 66 in storage. Going to get the lobster boat off the Spaarnegracht this morning in the Harbor. She survived hurricane force in Newport, R.I. 2 days before she was loaded. Back to learning the Cummins 6BT Reman and getting fire, water and fuel to the engine.

Has anyone tried these mast wedges? I looked at RigRite and it is almost 400 bucks for wedges so I was wondering if these could be a potential replacement? I'm assuming use the smaller size, but i'm not sure what size is currently needed
