Hey Ardea, Thanks for the offer, looks like a good one. But I just bought the one from the internet. Am sure someone will see this soon. Thanks, Carl S

No problem. My wife would love it if I could get rid of my old W-50 parts. Chuckle

To all those reading this post in the future, dont order the mixing elbow from the site that I listed, it has wrong hose size. Ooops, should have been a bit more careful checking out the dimensions, cost me freight two ways. Take Care

I think this was an old post but I was surfing and came across it. What I learned on this topic might be helpful to someone else with a W50.

When I first bought my T37 in 1996, I found that the straight black pipe between the exhaust elbow and water exhaust canister was very corroded and had a lot of pin-hole leaks. I jiggled it and it broke off. Fortunately I discovered this at the dock, although it was just before we were to leave the dock for a 10 day cruise. So I ordered a new elbow just as you did... and found the same thing... the angle was wrong (90 degrees instead of about 45, I think, as was mentioned) and the new elbow looked nothing like the original one. The original one on the engine was basically a black pipe elbow as seen in your photo. The new one I think was painted orange and a beefy thing that looked nothing like the original. As it turned out, I talked with my marina and they were able to remove the piece of straight pipe that broke off and re-tapped the threads in the elbow. Then we simply put the old elbow with the water mixer back on, and replaced the straight black pipe that had corroded between the elbow and exhaust cannister. That was 16 years ago and I haven't had a problem since. Oh yeah, I returned the new elbow I bought for a full refund (minus he shipping I paid of course).

Personally, I think Tartan has a goof in their inventory or part number for this part.

Richard,
I would have to look up my records to see or maybe it is stamped on the elbow somewhere.
