I will be replacing the engine bushings/isolators as I am putting on a new cutlass and drip-less shaft seal. I am wondering where you have purchased yours? I went to Torresens but they seem very $$$?

It is just the bushings I need to replace correct? (Assuming the mounts are fine Shocked )

If you are talking about the engine mounts, on the W-50--they are nothing really special (Yanmar and some other manufacturers are special and must be ordered through them). You should be able to get them at any marine supply or marine engine store. I have found Torresen to be much much more expensive than just about any other place. What is nice is that they have the engine diagrams on line for part numbers.

I would have called them bushings, the manual calls them isolators, most call them mounts? Frustrating Whatever right Chuckle I have found a few companies that make them, I just havent found the right ones, the height of the housings is different, and I agree, The ones from Torresen are very expensive.

I thought about doing this for another boat, and the diesel guy I talked to raved about some new mounts made in Australia. They have two densities of rubber, one to reduce noise with limited travel, and a heavier density to stop the motor moving too much when put into gear.

I have never done it, but I would definitely install a thrustless system in my dream boat. A thrust bearing isolates shaft thrust from the mototr, and you could use much softer mounts. I think the commercial one is called Aqua drive.

I found replacement bushings I needed at http://www.bushingsinc.com/ the manufacturer. I purchased them from www.gotomarine.com for about $37.00 each. ( for W50 http://www.go2marine.com/product.do?no=75045F )

I'm also adding a Tranny Saver, PSS Seal & SS Clamp from McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/#shaft-collars/=6vjz8y Part Number: 9633T19 cheap insurance for the PSS), new SS shaft, and new cutlass in hopes that I will not have do any of this for a looong time Wink

Lesson learned...check alignment often

Thanks for the tip on where to find new engine mounts. When I went to that site, there were 3 models: the DF 100, 206, and 216. Do you happen to remember which ones you ordered for the W50?
