I have taken off the water pump to replace hose and impellor on my w50. This is a new boat for me and po should have done this sooner. The impellor has shed the outer portions of vanes and i have only found half of the tips. Is this a problem? I am going to remove the elbows going into the heat exchanger to look for the four tips missing but i am worried about the rubber tips clogging the water injection elbow and of less concern clogging the heat exchanger. should I be concerned? thanks carl sutherland ser 295 mawky/ ps after 9 mos the coast guard issued my certificate of documention and they had the year completed wrong and place built wrong. My hull no is tar37295m81a. all documents that came with boat (most are original docs) indicate that it is an 1981 and built in Ohio. So after 9 mos the coast guard doc arrives and it says the boat is a 1980 and built in hamlet N.C. I send it back to have errors corrected and they respond that the mfgers data they have says 1980 and hamlet N.c. does anyone know if this is correct. i think it is silly or sad that it takes less time to mfg the boat than the govt paperwork. just keep paying your taxes and smile. carl

Ah, the efficient hand of the US gov't. Frustrating Rant

I wouldn't worry about the impeller bits Carl. If you're getting good cooling now, you just need to prevent chewing up a lot of those things. In other threads here on the forum folks have said that they had cooling issues and found the exchanger clogged with impeller bits. But digging for them when you don't know if there's any to clean out might be a big project for a "Just in case" situation. We've chewed up a few and our cooling is fine. Now we're putting it on a bi-annual checklist so we get them out before the vanes dissappear. Mind you though, we're in fresh water. (just realized... so are you.)

Carl,
My boat is a 1977 and the documentation also says Hamlet N.C.
I don't know if the T-37 was the only model built in N.C. but I would be curious to find out. Anyone out there know?
Tom

My T37 (T37276) was built in 1980 and the documentation says that it was built in Ohio.
Although you have probably figured it out by now.
Good Luck

My T37 was built in Hamlet and is hull 373 and was in the mold in December 1981 delivered in 1982. I am not sure when the Ohio factory burned.
