I was just sitting across from a masked diesel guy telling me he has a gasket/ring kit for the Cav fuel injector pump (Lucas?) that I can use to stop the leak where the throttle goes into the body of the pump without taking the pump off? I thought I had to take it off. Clearly, I'd druther not.

Clean, clean, CLEAN the stud on the throttle. Then spray some Corrosion-X or PB blaster on the nut. Let it stand for a day or so. Then try to remove the nut.

I was going to do this and pull the old o-ring out and replace it BUT....

I sheared the shaft and ended up having to pull the pump and send it in.

Your luck may vary.

Thank you. I have to smile, because I've had so much fun with various diesels over the last 40 years. I always screw something up. This time I will go very, very slow.
