You can lose the oil cooler. Had one fail and killed my Westerbeke 50, lost all the oil. While rebuilding talked to Marcus at Transatlantic Diesel and he said it was not needed. Have over 1,500 since rebuild and runs cooler now than it ever has. Are you guys running the blower while motoring. I think it helps, also it keeps the engine compartment cooler which help the transmission.

Holiday doesn't have the blower. Guess some previous owner got rid of it. Without the oil cooler, do you just link the 2 oil hoses and the 2 water hoses with brass fittings?
