Thanks everyone for your inputs. I have been running it slower, 1800-2000 rpm?s and hope to see a difference the next time I fill the tank, but there is definitely something up considering my estimated fuel consumption is way way off from everyone else.
I have calculated the fuel usage every time I have filled the fuel tank since we have owned her (our third season), probably about 8-10 times? But I have decided not to pull the motor this winter ($$$) and try to determine the problem onboard. Its time a trained mechanic really looks it over. It hates to start in temperatures below 50 degrees, I get a good amount of white smoke for the first 1-2 minutes after a cold start, and there is also the annoying fuel leek I am chasing around.
The real bummer is I just don?t have the time to work on it myself, so it looks like I'll have to hire a good diesel mechanic...arggggggg.
