We have a W40 in our '81 and after checking the oil a few times this past season, I realized that the stick is marked in totally different places on either side.... She's new to us as of about 6 months ago and I'm not sure if a PO made more marks on the stick for some reason. Is this normal? Seems out of place to me. If it's not normal, could someone let me know the measurements from the bottom of the stick to the correct bottom and top mark? I'll be changing the oil at the start of next season and definitely don't want to overfill!

start with the oil capacity on the W-40 and work from there when you change the oil

Mine has only marks on one side, next time I'm at the boat I'll measure it, give me a few days

Measured the dip stick on the W40, from the tip of the bottom to the minimum mark is 5/16", to the max mark is 3/4" from the tip,
