Hello everyone,
Just a little update and then a question for advice.
I finally got my refit done on Dragonfly, keel and all.
Electronics and small improvements on standing rigging.
I am very happy!
I am wanting to supply my boat with a new life raft that will be in harmony with the way the boat was set up before I bought it, an offshore cruiser. I would like to know what brand you would recommend and how and where to stowe it, if price was not an issue, then I will consider the price after other factors first.
I have looked at other sites, but I really want Tartan 37 owners if possible.
All your experience and advice has really helped me and I hope at some point I will gain enough experience to help someone else!
Thanks!
Allan

When I bought my boat (#198) it had a Revere Elite 6-man raft on a shelf high up in the cockpit locker. It measures 2.5' x 1.5' x 1' and slides out pretty easy. By the way, I asked a local company that sells and inspects rafts and other safety equipment about rafts and they recommend renting when going offshore unless its an extended cruise. They charge over $500 to inspect them (every few years) and if they need any work, they said its cheaper to buy new.

I'd recommend a raft from Datrex. They will put additional flares and such in the package, and they have what seems to be a competent infrastructure to inspect and maintain their rafts.
