I plan on switching my CB pennant to a Dyneema line. What was there before was 3/8" braided rope, but I was wondering if anyone had changed it to Dyneema or is it not recommended? If you did change to Dyneema, were both pennant and tag line changed? And what type did you use exactly? Double braid, single braid, endura cover, poly cover, ...?

I asked the question about Dyneema and got know response. I would like to try and I thought I would use 10 mm Spectra and peel the case back far enough to leave the casing as a tail to pass through the sheaves and onto the winch. It can be sewed at this point and leave the Dyneema core all the way through to be spliced at the board.

In my case I just got my Tartan and should I go offshore I would want to check the pennant and change it for something new. The question was whether or not to use Dyneema cored line like Spectra. I would change and and go with a synthetic core based on my experience with it.

While unstepping my mast, the line was forgotten wrapped around a winch and was snapped in half when the mast was lifted up. That scared me and made me consider something stronger.
