I have been cleaning out some stuff that has been on the boat since I bought it 9 years ago. Anyone know what these parts are for? I know I must be missing a washer and the roller pins are very magnetized. I think I know how it goes together but still don't know what the heck it is,

thanks
Richard

Are the rods aluminum ? Are the pins less than 3/4" and like rod-magnets ? If yes, they appear to be the compensators for the binnacle compass.

Not a clue, but it looks like the black pins go through the holes then the springs then the washers holding the springs on creating a rod with two springs pushing outward against something. The cut slot at the end would keep the rod in place somehow. I have only seen external compass compensators (they looks like balls orbiting the compass), if that's what these are then they must be mounted inside the binnacle and aren't they too long?? What about the teak piece?

It's not teak but is a metal, but that is what it is I bet. My compass does
not have any adjustment in it! Thanks for the help,
Richard

They look like spring rods for a hatch
