For Sale: Westerbeke 50 & Hurth transmission

The original Westerbeke 50 engine and Hurth transmission has been removed from our 1982 Tartan 37. It was running prior to it being removed but was hard to start and burned fuel more than normal. Willing to sell it as is or piece it out for parts. Local (Baltimore/Washington area) deliver of whole engine possible. Will ship items at an additional cost to buyer. Engine had about 3800 hours. Make offers

- recently rebuilt injectors (4 each) (2008)
- recently rebuilt injector pump (2009)
- new engine mounts (4 each) (2009)
- new "Drive Saver" (2009)

- 4 recently rebuilt injectors (23182) - plus a couple extra banjo bolts (111943) and injector bolts
- Heat Exchanger (15799)
- Raw water pump plus mounting bracket plus one new impeller kit
- 120 AMP AMP Tech Alternator (free, you pay shipping)
- Primary fuel filter housing (11598)

I have pretty much torn down the entire engine short of removing the pistons and crankshaft. Some larger items that may be of interest
- Cylinder Head (23223) and anything in it including valves, rods, springs, cam shaft, etc
- Fly wheel (23172)
- Fly wheel Housing (19422)
- Back/Rear Plate (23177)
- Exhaust manifold (15784)
- Air Intake Silencer (21536)
- Oil Sump Pump
- pistons, etc...

I might be interested in a few things, if they are still available: alternator? heat exchanger? mechanical fuel lift pump?

On the parts you are looking for, you might go with rebuilding your alternator. The Mr Cool heat exchangers for $329 are a very good replacement, cools much better than OEM. Fuel pump lift pump go to ASAP Parts, OEM part, also get the manifold gasket from them. The Westerbeke 50 is a BMC-1.8 diesel engine. Here are the links.
