Ran fine. From a1980 T37. Leaked a little but not bad. Not enough to measure. Just repowered for peace of mind since we headed offshore. I'm in the Pacific Northwest. Would prefer to sell the entire thing as a package. Make an offer.

Also post on Cruiser Forum and Facebook page for small diesel engines. Might want to sell the tranny separate. What did you repower with?

Thanks for those ideas. I'll post both places.

I ended up going with a Beta 38. I'm happy to answer any questions anyone might have on the process. It was a huge job. About 8 non-consecutive 12 hour days of work. We did every bit of it ourselves with some advice from a shop. We're now intimately familiar with our engine!

We replaced ours last fall. We did it in the yard and the day after launching we took off for the Bahamas. Currently on the way back. I lucked out, before we left, a man delivering a T41 south blew his W50 in our area. Was an easy sale, but found my contact info on the Cruisers Forum.

We also did the install ourselves, wasn't too bad. Think it took us about 60 hours. I had rebuilt the W50, about 15 years ago, so had a plan for pulling. Getting too old for this stuff.
