Dear fellow T37 owners, does anyone have the following items that they might consider selling ( list may grow! Confused) )

1. Good condition head sail (harken roller furling), and main sail
2. Rudder? Mine has moisture and delam, rebuilding unless ?
3. Parts or complete rebuildable/repairable/rebuilt Westerbeke 40, checking options
4. Factory replacement skeg, can get from factory but $$$
5. good condition v berth cushions
6. Tartan 37 coffee table book, so I can see where all this stuff should go;)

Thank you!

I'll be removing a running Westerbeke 50 (41hp) from my Tartan 37. The motor is 1979, but was completely rebuilt 13 years ago, about 1,500 hours ago and the engine has 3,200 hours total. The engine is running great, maybe the best it's ever run. This motor like all British base motor, has some slow leaks, about a 1/4 quart every 8 hours. The boat is in Norfolk, Va and the motor will be pulled in two weeks. This is a very solid motor, parts are available, replacing because of cruising a little more and the old girl deserves it. Asking $1,750

No transmission, many new parts. PM, Call or Text.

I also have a 155% genny, made by Quantum, in solid shape. $400

Thanks for your reply! Do you know whether the Westerbeke 50 is a direct replacement for the 40? Meaning transmission, wiring, etc same?

There are based on a very similar motor. Westerbeke 50 is a BMC 1.8L and the Westerbeke 40 is a BMC 1.5L. Know the mounts are good, Hurth transmission (I've have a new drive plate) is good fit. I have a complete working wiring harness and control panel. Water, fuel and electrical will be the same fitup. Also will drop the price to $1,250.

The motor has a newer heat exchanger and the motor runs very cool.

The W40 is based on the Perkins 4-107, at least mine is according to the serial numbers on the engine.

Maybe the W40A was different but I don't think they were put into our boats,

Think you're right, it's the Westerbeke W30 that's based on the BMC 1.5L, also called 4-91. Certain the mounts w/18" centers and transmission would fit up. I think the W50 has a 2in exhaust and the W40 is 1-1/2". need to check.

I think I'm keeping my 40 so far. Thanks for checking into the compatibility.
