We have a 1979 T37. Hull #218. Which underwent a major refit in 2005. It is in above average condition with a 2017 survey value of around $50K US. We are sailing it from Kingston, Ontario to Georgetown, Bahamas this winter and are considering selling the boat after our cruising season. Can anyone recommend where along the east coast I would have the best luck selling? Bahamas, florida, Chesapeake?

You don't want to sell in Bahamas, everyone there has a boat, plus have to pay duty. Florida is a buyers market, and South Florida is more suited for bigger yachts. The Chesapeake Bay, is really like three areas. The upper bay is mostly Annapolis, lots of people looking for boats start there. Be careful with your brokers, read the contract carefully. Lower and middle bay, has places Solomon Island, Deltaville and Norfolk and some good brokers.

Annapolis sounds like a good recommendation. All I can offer is what I know: Harborage Marina at Bayboro in St. Petersburg, Florida on Tampa Bay.

Others have listed and left a boat there till it is sold. Salt Creek with several yards empties into Bayboro Harbor next to the Marina so all services are near.

While others are dreaming of Spring, the West Florida boat show is held there in December. A couple boats at our club were purchased at that show. Just another place to consider...
