You guys haven't checked in.

Here's hoping nobody got damaged. Having faced the monster several times, I tend to worry about people in their paths. The biggest difference between the storms I seen and yours is we don't get snow afterwards. brrrrrr. User sing out.

I saw MD got hit pretty hard. Hope the Chesapeake crowd was all in safe havens. With that size, Sandy would be hard to avoid.

Tortuga's Lie is faired very well on the lower Potomac on the Yeocomico. Stripped her down to bare poles before the storm and doubled up on dock lines. I think the most wind she saw was in the mid-40's +/-

We fared well, only minor stuff. The boat has been on the hard awaiting her new engine, so I was mostly worried she would topple over in the high winds. We typically don't step our mast on the bay since our winters are not as harsh as they are North, but I heard winds clocked at 90+ gust on the bay bridge! I think most were concerned about the tidal surge but it turned out not to be much of an issue from what I have heard. Annapolis suffered some significant flooding during Isabel, but nothing to speak about with Sandy. In fact I think there has been more concern with flooding in the last couple of days since Sandy, with all the water coming down from the Chesapeake watershed.

Our home didn't see any damage either, which is rare with so many large old oak trees. A little water intrusion in the basement due to a gutter that was blown off and caused water to fall against the foundation. We didn't even lose power, which is also unusual. We got punched in the face during the summer derichio (sp?) that left us with out power for 7 days and two trees on the house, one missing our cars by a foot or two.

It is unbelievable the damage suffered in NYC and NJ, thoughts and prayers going out to those folks often.

Fine here but we got lucky, if it had gone South of us the Chesapeake would be looking like the Jersey shore.

My heart goes out to those who lost lives and homes to this storm.
