First day of a week long cruise and I'm sitting at the PC. 60 knot winds forecast tonight and we try to treat the old girl a little better than that.

I usually end up with the other problem. Ready to take a cruise and the wind is blowing 4 kts on the nose. Sometimes I wonder if a motor-sailer is a better choice. But for now, I love my Tartan. Every year I get 2 or 3 compliments from sailors when they happen along the dock. Once I was pulling into a slip after an 8 hour motor-sail and as I approached my assigned transient slip slowly, a guy on another transient boat yelled over "Tartan 37... beautiful boat." That was when I misjudged my turn and ended up stopped in my slip 3 feet from the dock and 3 ft from the mid-post with no dock mate to catch a line. Duh.
