Well the boat just arrived in Nova Scotia to its new home after a 2600 mile journey. The transport driver said it was a lot heavier than I told him (I said 16,000 lbs) he thought closer to 20,000 and the crane operator said it was 20,300 lbs! I have 2 boxes of booze on board, 3 sails and some other stuff. I have a built in genset, windlass, spare chain, A/C-heat exchanger, 1/2 tank of fuel, boom onboard and lots of books. I cannot figure out how it could weigh this much - even if I had soaking wet core (which I do not think I have). Has anyone else had their boat shipped or weighed - how far off of the 15,500 lbs was it?

Thanks
Richard

The seagoing packrat gathers great quantities!
Do you have fuel and water emptied?

No idea what the boat displaces, but I know our disembodied keel weighs 8212lbs.

At Crane out last fall, empty water tanks, fuel tank 3/4 full, basic boat weighed 17,000 according to the crane operator.
