Good show this year. Grabbed lots of "overrun" tshirts from races in places I'd rather be (Hawaii, Annapolis, etc) and checked out the lates line of Tartans.
The 3700 is still big, roomy and in my opinion can't hold a candle to our classic. They waste space below, the cockpit is awkward and hard to get around, and it leaves you with the "some old thing" impression.
I thought this was kind of neat though.

For the first time I did see a boat I'd like to upgrade to. (that wasn't a Sabre or a Jeaneau)
The new Tartan 4300 is perfect in every way. Great cockpit that you can move in, all lines come aft, two furling systems for your choice of headsails and even a self tacking setup if you want to use it. Not sure I like the monster boom for self stowing main, but that's the latest rage I guess. (Is there a name for that?)
They finally made the table below drop into a double bunk in the settee. The nav station has a swivel captain's chair that would be easy to get into and stay in underway. The sales rep was saying that the new paint methods (no more gel coat) made it so you can order any color hull. Very cool. Didn't have the wheel mounted but all my fav steering positions were possible and comfortable. I liked the removable benches on the sides of the helm so if you want to be able to get around the binnacle, you can leave them off. If you don't mind climbing you can keep them in.
Did I mention bow thruster?
It would need some custom modifications to make it just right, but at a mere $500k (semi-loaded) it's to be expected. Hmmm... which pocket did I leave that half million in?
So if you're in Miami or Oakland it's worth a look.
